Allie Berenyi is a carpenter and cabinetmaker with 15 years of experience. She currently serves on the Wider Circle Board of Directors, and is a carpentry instructor at Madison Area Technical College.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, Allie and her family immigrated to the U.S. when she was three.
She believes that widening the circle requires each of us to step outside of our comfort zone and talk with strangers. Actions to back up the awareness of injustice and inequity in New Orleans and El Vigía, feels far better than sitting in front of the TV and despairing.
Miche Llanas serves as the Executive Director of Wider Circle. She is committed to living and working in a world where we all have an opportunity to thrive.
Miche speaks English and Spanglish (and always improving español), has a bachelor's degree in International Relations, and has completed coursework towards a Master's of Public Health. She has lived and traveled in Mexico since she was a child, and her son, Valentín was born in Zipolite, Oaxaca, a neighboring community to El Vigía.
Miche believes in starting from where you are at, with the strengths that you have. Together, adelante.
Mary Young serves on the Steering Committee and the Board of Directors. Her involvement in Wider Circle evolved from her first volunteer trip to New Orleans nine months after Hurricane Katrina.
With a background in health care and organizational psychology she never ceases to be amazed by the generosity and gratitude of those who are most in need.
Mary feels that we all have a giving nature in us and acting on that nature makes a larger impact on our word than we can ever imagine. The relationships that she has built by giving of her time have been reciprocal.

"Giving a day of your time to hammer in drywall or have a cultural exchange with children results in a lifetime of difference. Bossing people around or giving first aid is a total bonus!” - Mary, aka Dr. Pants
